What’s your idea?

Young people are creative and imaginative by nature! Their ideas are unique and made great landing pads for even greater businesses. However, ideas are one thing and execution is another. Moreover, there is much to learn on turning ideas to profitable realities.

But, what if you’re stuck from the get-go?

Presenting: 5 tips for brainstorming the perfect idea.

1.      Use, reuse and recycle

Want to start a business, but have no idea where to go? A recycling initiative, giving a second life to pre-loved toys, books and clothes, is an awesome way to start. It may not come to mind as a business, but that’s what makes it so great. Simply by doing something you might want to do already, you may have a business plan ready to go! What will they learn?

Value of Money  - In owning those clothes and toys, young people often don’t consider their monetary value. Setting up a marketplace with personal goods helps switch this mindset from indifference to business.

2.      A business that gives back

Social impact through business is something we love to see, and is an avenue we recommend young people exploring. If a burning desire to see change happen is there, it can be easily channelled into a business model. What will they learn?

Social Awareness - In an ever-evolving world, social awareness and a penchant for kindness is truly valuable, building positive relationships and a better world with it.

3.      Make it. Sell it.

Sometimes it’s as easy as taking a fun, creative idea and turning it into a profitable reality. Whether it’s a love for designing, drawing, writing, dancing or whatever else, products and services are the bread and butter of business. Intrigued? 4.      Help out if you can

Schools run a variety of fundraisers and students are often involved in their undertaking. Empowering them to take on these initiatives builds more than a love for hustling; it also develops social skills and awareness, particularly when funding worthwhile causes.

Confidence - Asking individuals to help out for a good cause builds confidence and self-assurance, helping turn even the shiest kid, into a business-savvy entrepreneur.

5.      Be the solution

Finding yourself without a solution to an existing problem can be frustrating. Finally…

Must all ideas be unique and original?

Ideas need not be entirely unique or stand-alone. This is as; the initial idea will not doubt evolve, as will their perception of business.
